I have served as the JCPA Transition Counselor since February 2020.
I graduated with my Masters in Social Work from Aurora University in 2008. I was a School Social Worker in Illinois for 7 years prior to moving to North Carolina. I spent 3 years with Cabarrus County Schools as a Multi-Tiered System of Support Coach and a half a year with Wayne County Public Schools as a Multi-Tiered System of Support Specialist prior to transitioning to Johnston County.
I live in Johnston County with my husband, dog, and cat. It is exciting to work and live in the same community. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, and baking!
I look forward to the great successes that are ahead of us this year as we continue to grow as a school community. I am proud to be a Choice Plus Academy Phoenix.

Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
