Mrs. Katie Bass
Hello! My name is Katie Bass, I am a 6th grade ELA and math teacher. I look forward to getting to know everyone this school year through virtual meetings at first and hopefully in person not too long after!!!
I am so excited to begin my 5th year as a Four Oaks Cardinal. I hope my rising 6th graders are just as excited! This will be my 10th year teaching. I am orignially from New Jersey, but came down to North Carolina in 2007 to become a pirate. GO PIRATES! At ECU I met my husband Josh who is a biotech engineer in the Triangle area. Together we have three beautiful children Landon (4), Mary-Kate (3), and Olivia (4 months). We have a four legged baby as well, Honey Bear (9).
I love to read young adult books, so if you have any great suggestions please send them my way! I get as excited as the students do when the scholastic book fair comes into the library twice a year! I love going to the beach; however, it is not as relaxing these days with the kids. In the summer and on weekends we love to go on fun adventures (some of our favorites include: Hillridge farms, Boyette farms, Marbles, any and all pools/ splash pads, Pullen Park, and so many more).

Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
As students in grades K-5 begin returning to school, the curbside locations for free meals will now be located at each middle and high school. The curbside meal locations at our elementary schools will end on Friday, Oct. 2 and will open at the middle and high schools on Monday, Oct. 5.
