Middle schools are organized into interdisciplinary teacher teams in which two to five teachers assume joint responsibility for the instructional program of a given group of students. This organization offers advantages for students, teachers, and parents. As a team, teachers are able to address a variety of student needs. Parents can meet with their child's individual teachers or with the team.
Middle school students study language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and healthful living. Experiences in art, music, and band are integrated within the core curriculum to develop skill as defined in the Basic Education Program. Each middle school offers a program of electives.
