JoCo Teen Drivers Club: 2018 - 2019
Johnston County Teen Drivers (JCTD) is a peer-to-peer safety program for young drivers. JCTD holds several events throughout the school year and all students are encouraged to attend. JCTD has ten leadership council membership spots available each year. This year we will be selecting 4 Super Senior/Juniors, 4 Sophomores, and 2 Freshman. A backup member will be selected for each grade level in the event a JCTD member cannot fulfill their duties.
JCTD leadership council members are required to attend special events throughout the year which are held all over the county. These events are usually held on Saturdays or evenings during the week throughout the year. The first event this year is the annual JCTD Workshop on September 8th from 9am to 12pm. Examples of other events are the Ham and Yam Festival, the Harvest Festival in Clayton, the Smithfield Christmas parade, etc. In addition to events, two to three members from the leadership council will be required to attend monthly county meetings located at the Johnston County Human Resources Office. Transportation to these events will not be provided.
If you are not interested in holding a leadership council position but would like to actively participate in organizing and implementing JCTD events on our campus, please consider applying for JoCo Teen Driver Membership. Unless they are attending a college/high school class, JoCo Teen Driver Club members are required to work at the booth and/or circulate the crowd at Fall Fest and Spring Fling on JCC’s campus.
Membership needs to be renewed every year. Having membership the previous school year does not guarantee your membership for the current school year. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hales. The application form for the 2018-2019 school year is due by 4:50 pm Monday, August 27th. Late forms will not be accepted.
