In an effort to refine the continuous improvement planning processes of Johnston County Public Schools, an emphasis has been placed on establishing a unified, foundational understanding regarding the “why” of continuous improvement and most importantly how it has a direct impact on the students of this school system. With this emphasis comes numerous forms of support to promote consistency and accountability in the school and district improvement process. To effectively model this expectation, a district continuous improvement team has been established. The team will serve as a support system for our schools and district to ensure all improvement plan components are breathing documents that will be consistently reviewed and revisited to ensure the district and its schools are meeting the needs of the students, and ultimately aligning to the JOCO 2020 vision.
Since both the District Strategic Plan and the School Improvement Plans are aligned around the same vision, mission, core values, and goals, we are all “pulling in the same direction”. This alignment, along with our reflective practice of reviewing our successes and making adjustments as needed, will ensure another successful year for you as a school and for us as a district.
