    • Grant Awarded to River Dell PTA

      The RDE PTA has been awarded this grant during the phase 1 program to further support our students and teachers at River Dell for the upcoming summer and school year. RDE is the ONLY Johnston County School to have received this grant and one of only 7 NC schools in the state. Thank you to NCPTA and Tic Tok for this opportunity to support our community! RDE RACERS ROCK!!!

    • Box Top Winners

      Congratulations to Mrs. Smith's fifth grade class who were the box top winners for the month of September. As a reward they received Popsicle's and the box top trophy for the month.

    • School Supplies Donated to RDE

      Thank you to Overland Contracting Inc. for donating school supplies to River Dell Elementary. The company held a Fill the Bus campaign and were able to donate many school supplies to RDE. "We are thrilled about the amount of supplies that were donated to our school," RDE Principal Chad Jewett said. "They will be put to great use and are greatly appreciated by our students and staff."

    • Parent Advisory Council Vacancies

      RDE has 3 vacancies on our Parent Advisory Council. Parent Advisory Members serve a 3-year term and meet quarterly with administration discussing school policy, procedures, school improvement goals, and other items related to creating a positive relationship between the school and the community and families we serve. The deadline to submit resumes and cover letters to be considered for Parent Advisory Council is Friday, August 14th. Anyone interested in applying will need to send a resume and a cover letter explaining why they desire to serve on the Parent Advisory Committee to Chad Jewett via email (chadjewett@johnston.k12.nc.us)

    • Grade Level Drive Thru Information

      Listed below are the times for our grade level drive-throughs. The purpose is for students to say goodbye to their teachers and pick up personal items and awards. You must stay in your cars during this drive through, but we wanted to have one last chance for our students and teachers to say good-bye before the summer. Here is the schedule: Pre-K - Thurs, June 4th 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Front Carpool K - Monday, June 1st 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (H.     • Rising Kindergarten Parent Meeting

      We are going to have our rising Kindergarten parent meeting on Tuesday, May 12th at 6:30 p.m. This will be a virtual meeting. Mr. Jewett will do a Facebook Live event discussing what to expect for kindergarten and how you can help your child be ready for the first days of school. This will be great information if this is your first child in our kindergarten program.

    • New Lesson Information

      New lessons for the next 10 days are available through the bit.ly/jcpshome site. We have put dates at the top of the lesson document to help make it easier to know what day each lesson is for. Each grade level has posted lessons starting with Monday, May 4th and going through Friday, May 15th. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher. Printed packets for families without internet will be available starting Monday, May 4th. They will be in a cabinet with drawers at the front entrance. Look for your child's grade level and take a packet located in that drawer. They will be available all week, so you can come at your convenience.

    • Materials Pick Up Schedule

      If you were not able to come to school prior to spring break and pick up your child's books and materials, you can do that on Monday, April 27th or Tuesday, April 28th between 5pm and 8pm. If you also were not able to pick up a device that you had requested through your child's teacher, you can pick that up during that time as well. We will also have packets available for lessons 11 through 20 for families that do not have internet access. If you need a packet because you do not have internet, please contact your child's teacher so they can get us the number of copies we need to print. You can pick up those packets next Monday, April 27th or Tuesday, April 28th between 5pm and 8pm as well.
