Welcome to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Technology Class! My name is Ellen Hughes. I am the Technology Facilitator here at West Clayton Elementary and want to share with you a little about myself. My teaching experience includes five years of high school teaching in Technical Drafting and a decade in Instrcutional Technology at the elementary level. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology Education with a Concentration in Technical Drafting and am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Instructional Technology.

On a more personal note, I have three chidren. My oldest son is a junior (a.k.a Cow) at the United States Military Academy at West Point, my daughter is a junior at Clayton High School, and I have a three year old son as well. My husband is a Sergeant with the Raleigh Police Department. Family time is my favorite hobby!

In addition to teaching grades three through five technology classes, I serve as web master, provide technology related staff development,and troubleshoot hardware and software issues for the school.

I look forward to sharing with you all the wonderful things we are doing in the third, fourth, and fifth grade technology classes. Please feel free to visit and/or volunteer. We would appreciate your assistance and you will see first hand the awesome things your child is learning.

Welcome to the West Clayton Elementary Technology webpage. My name is Denise Blanchard, and I am the Technology Assistant here at WCES. I have been with Johnston County Schools for 8 years now. I have been at West Clayton the entire time.

Teaching technology to kindergarten, first and second grade students is one of the many responsibilities I enjoy. You might also see me delivering technology carts to the classrooms, and troubleshooting computers, printers, SMART Boards etc.

I would love to have you visit during your child’s computer class to see first hand what they are learning. I also encourage you to volunteer (I will never turn down the extra hands!). All volunteers must be approved as at least a level 1 volunteer. Please note that if you have been approved in the past, you must complete paperwork on a yearly basis to continue volunteering.
