JOHNSTON COUNTY SCHOOLS

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PLAN

2013 - 2014

The AdvancED Adaptive System of School Improvement Support Tools (ASSIST) is a state-of-the-art system that allows schools to streamline and enhance their efforts to boost student achievement. Continuous school improvement requires honest, self-assessment, along with thoughtful planning and careful attention to an array of legal and program requirements.

AdvancED ASSIST is designed to broaden and sharpen thinking about school improvement, performance, and accreditation. The many disparate requirements, duties, and functions of effective school leadership and compliance are brought together into a single, seamless tool that facilitates progressive thinking and dialogue about school quality.

The Johnston County's Schools Action Plan identifies 4 main goals strategically chosen to improve student achievement:

  • All Johnston County School students will demonstrate high levels of character, academic growth, and achievement.

  • All Johnston County School facilities will provide a safe, clean, caring, orderly, and positive environment that supports and is conducive to learning.

  • All Johnston County Schools will be provided the resources to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

  • All Johnston County School leaders will encourage and promote family, community, and business involvement.
