Friday night's games at Southern Wayne:

JV Girls - Lost - Record 9-6 overall, 4-4 conference.

JV Boys - Lost - Record 5-12 overall, 4-4 conference.

Varsity Girls - Won 45-25 - Record 9-11 overall, 6-2 conference.
Whitney Williams had 15 points and 16 rebounds, Courtney Woods had 13 points, and Jessica Jackson had 11 points.

Varsity Boys - Lost - Record 9-11 overall, 1-7 conference.

The Trojan basketball teams will play their last regular season home game next Tuesday Feb. 9.  We will host North Lenoir for Senior Night.

Jamie Barbour took 1st place in Vault and tied for 2nd place on the balance beam in NC High School State Gymnastic meet on February, 5 2010.  Jamie has been a competitive gymnast for 6 years.  The competition was held at the Raleigh School of Gymnastics.  Jamie finished 4th place all around out of 52 competitors. CONGRATULATIONS TO JAMIE FOR REPRESENTING SJHS SO WELL!!

The Lady Trojans defeated Eastern Wayne in Goldsboro 63-61.  Courtney Woods led the team with 21 points and 6 rebounds.  Jessica Jackson added 12 and Tisa Snead had 10.  Meredith Banks come off the bench to pick up 9 points and 5 rebounds while Annah Pierce grabbed 8 rebounds against a tall, aggressive opponent.  Everyone contributed to the wine with their composure and hard work in some difficult situations.  The team will play at home on Thursday against CB Aycock.

From Mrs. Toothman:  Tryouts for Ensemble will be after school on Monday, Feb. 8 and Tuesday, Feb. 9.  Please sign up for a time to audition on the sign-up sheet on teh door of the chorus room.  If you have after school conflicts, please see Mrs. Toothman to arrange another time to audition.

Seniors going on the Grad Nite trip are reminded that all remaining payments are due next Friday, February 5.  Failure to complete your payments will result in losing your position on the trip and loss of your deposit.  Please see Mr. Bell or Mrs. Godwin if there are questions.

The Medieval Times trip has been cancelled due to lack of interest.

Seniors that are going on the Medieval Times trip on February 4 must pay their $65.00 by Friday of this week.  See Mrs. Godwin or Mrs. Jernigan.  This trip is open to ALL seniors.

 

Congratulations to the JV boys' basketball team for their win over Eastern Wayne Friday night.  Leading scorer was Justin Jeffress with 11 points. 

 

The next softball workout will be January 25th.

 

From Mr. Weaver: 

 

  • Anyone interested in filling out Proficiency Awards needs to see Mr. Parker or Mr. Weaver ASAP. 
  • Any senior that is filling out  FFA scholorships they need to be completed by February 5th.
  • Any senior FFA member that would like to run for the Wade Stephenson FFA award needs to contact K.Parker or W.Weaver to get the application, school interviews are wednesday after school.
  • Any FFA member that is interested in the farm show needs to see Mr. Parker or Mr. Weaver before this Thursday Janurary 28th.
  • Spring FFA dues are $10 and must be paid before February 5th.
  • Land Judging team will practice next monday, February 1st from 3-4 pm
  • Parliamentary Procedure team will practice this Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4pm
  • Farm Business Management team will practice Wednesday Janurary 27th from 3-4pm
  • There is an madatory officer meeting this Friday Janurary 29th after school until 3:30 pm
  • Rec. Camp deposit of $75 is due this friday January 29th to Mr.Weaver.
